I'm entering this image to the Photojournalism - LIFE contest.

The sub-category is: Photojournalism, Documentary/Editorial

This guy called me over when I was walking around Vokasenzela, Lesotho. He wanted chat and actually sell me a real diamond. He didn't mind me photographing his kids.

Photograph taken with a Pentax K100, 28mm lens. Sorry, can't remember the shutter speed and aperture. Taken on Illford HP400 B&W film. Developed by me and scanned in with a Imacon Flexlight drum scanner.

This is part of an ongoing documentary photography study that will form part of my B-Tech (degree) in photography. The Extended Essay title for my degree is "Documentary Photography and Traditional Culture" and the Basotho People of Lesotho is my case study.

Another film image developed by yours truly and scanned in with mister Imacon

It's interesting how his modern-style t-shirt contrasts with the traditional houses and natural landscape here.
